TRIKKE 8

Description: The Trikke is a 3-wheel vehicle that reinvents how you propel yourself on wheels without pushing or peddling. Using motion like that of skiing or in-line skating you simply lean with the handle bars to drive the Trikke forward.

    Takes Practice

Just bought, it's a fun ride but takes some practice!

    Get a Trikke
Reviewer: Anonymous       01-22-2005
If you’re looking for a fun activity to do alone or with family or friends get a Trikke, if you want a great way to work out upper and lower and cardio get a Trikke, if you want a way to run errands get a Trikke. If you are getting older but are still young at heart get a Trikke.

    Fun Ride!

It took some time to learn how to ride the Trikke 8, but once you get going, it is a smooth and fun ride. I do not feel as if I am going to fall, as I do when I try to rollerblade or use my sons’ skateboard (I never had that kind of balance). Climbing inclines of any size is very difficult. The slight incline in front of my home is hard, but not impossible. I do not see myself tackling hills any time soon. My friend who is into exercising has climbed hills with the Trikke 8 and she said it was a workout, and you will feel it later.

It is a very sturdy piece of equipment and is stable to ride. If you in-line skate or downhill ski, you'll find the sweet spot that put you in the zone pretty quickly. Going downhill with the Trikke is a Blast! You carve turns and control your speed by turning just like skiing.

Going uphill was very difficult at first but we can now go up inclines with no trouble. Riding the Trikke causes a stir whereever you go. People always stop and ask what makes it go and find it hard to believe that it's just muscle power.

    Good Workout

The more I practice riding my Trikke the easier I find the going. Up hills (slight inclines) was very hard at first but I find that once I gain a little momentum and find that "sweet spot" that I can make decent headway going up - not very fast but still moving forward. This machine does provide a fairly good workout for a 57 year old man and it is fun looking for new places to ride.

    Satisfied

I saw the commercial for trikke on tv a couple of months ago and I thought it looked really interesting. I wanted to buy one since and I finally bought one a couple of days ago. I would say I am satisfied with it. The person who designed must be a real samrt person and he did a real great job. It is not all that small in size compared to those razors plus it is made of aircraft aluminum. The only problem is that it takes up too much space while moving. I mainly bought this for going around campus and I cannot really do that. This is because of it's propelling motion.Hope this helps.

    Love it!

I love my Trikke 8!!! I have been riding it almost daily since I received it. This was something I had been thinking about purchasing for over a year. I have had mine for about 6 weeks now. Have always looked at your website for reviews of fitness equipment and was pleased to read that current Trikke owners were satisfied. I can honestly say I look forward to riding this and am disappointed when it is raining here in usually sunny Florida. Being a 51 year old nurse I realized I needed a form of exercise that was a total body workout since I will be working a few more years. I work the night shift and have actuallly started getting up earlier when I have to work to go get at least a 30 minute ride in. There is a learing curve involved when trying to get the hang of riding. I am not the most coordinated person in the world so it took me about 5 days to feel comfortable. Things fell into place when I folded up my Trikke and drove to a nearby walking/riding path. I needed the long stretch of safe road to get going and have not stopped since!!!!! I also can't stop talking to friends about my latest find. It is a shame I didn't get this sooner!!!! I hope my review will encourage others to take the plunge and start enjoying this experience as much as I do. I think I get a "Trikker's High" everytime I go out for my ride. It is always a better day(or night if working) when I get my Trike ride in first. Sunglasses, sunscreen, good music from my headset and I am quite content. I am thankful I am able to fit this into my day, that I am healthy and live in an area that has a safe place to ride outside. I have tried many different types of exercise equipment and while I have good results/ experience nothing and I sincerely mean this, nothing is as much fun as the Trikke 8 is. I sweat like crazy, get my heart rate up (especially riding into the wind) get some much need vitamin D from the sun, enjoy the beautiful scenery where I am riding and have met some nice folks as well who are interested in what I am riding. When I originally bought the Trikke I had intended to ride around my neighborhood. Unfortunately the streets are to rough for the wheels and the ride is not as comfortable. I guess it is a blessing in disguise because I have enjoyed the parkway that I use more than I ever imagined!!!

    Highly Addicting!

My wife and I are full-time RVing and use a T8 and a T12 trikke to "scoot" around campgrounds. It is a great conversation starter. "Where are the batteries?" "Where is the motor?" "What makes it go?" "Is it a toy?" It is an exhilarating experience and in order to find out the answer to all of those questions, you will have to use muscles you do not know you have. It is highly adicting and it makes you really dislike rainy days.

    Cool!

I bought the trikke 8 a couple of days ago for going around my university campus. I would say it has been an awesome experience so far and I would recommend it to anyone. It is real fun when you have a flat surface to ride on. The only problem with it in my case is that it takes up too much space because of its unique motion. At the end of the day, I would say it is a real cool product.

    Love it

The secret is to give yourself a little push and don't turn your wheel to much or you'll dump going slow. Instead, lean the bars over to the left or right without turning the wheel (hardly)--like riding a motorcycle. If you love xc, bc, or dh skiing or blading, this is the off-snow sport and vehicle for you, as your legs power and churn into those turns. The Trikke 8 is the larger version of Trikkes and has 8 inch wheels that practically float down over curbs. The ballbearings are friction-free like the Xootr scooter, which I also have and love. The Trikke can stand on it's own (having 3 wheels). Everyone says "Coool!" when you go by. Riding uphill takes a little practice, but will come as you get used to riding. Once the skiing rythm comes, you are hooked!!!I love it. It is ultra stable feeling and downhill is a blast. 2 nice rear brakes

I am a 58 year old woman with a number of health problems, but when I saw the Trikke being shown on TV, I knew it was for me. I bought the Trikke 6 which is the in between size for adults. (I am 5'2" and weigh 120 pounds) The Trikke is a very well made, lightweight, and durable 3 wheel scooter that is the most fun thing I have ever ridden. It has no motor and it has hand brakes that work very well. It is quiet, it feels like you are an ice skater skating on the smoothest of ice, it is soooo exhilarating and gives you quite the workout as well. Not only does it affect every muscle in your body, but it is a fantastic cardiovascular workout as well. You just need two things if you are a woman unless you have a very strong upper body. You need: 1. A smooth surface. 2. A suface which is mostly flat. My husband, 185 pounds, can go uphill on it really well because his upper body is so strong but I need that flat smooth surface with small inclines and there is no way to explain the wonderful free feeling I feel when I go downhill with a big grin on my face. I haven't felt so alive in years and years and I highly recommend the Trikke 6 for women and for men, although a lot of larger men get the Trikke 8, Children can use the Trikke 5 with no problem.

I have a Trikke 8 and I find it totally impossible for me to ride right in front of my house. It is funn going down inclines but vitually impossible going up, I am in the street at a stand still moving side to side and moving the handle bars and going nowhere..
