From the Childs Eye Reviewer: Anonymous 06-13-2005
My Daddy bought my brother and I this toy while he was out of town. I am sorry to say that it is not in my household any longer! It blew away in the wind.
We bought others similar to this toy and they deflated quickly!
Several holes developed in them. Don't but it!

DO NOT BUY Reviewer: J. Terry Florida 06-02-2005 Amazon should allow for no stars or even negative stars for this product. I know why this thing was invented, so the makers could make some quick and easy cash. It has to be the biggest rip off ever invented except for maybe that pet rock thing back in the 70s. It's fun to imagine the fun you might have had with this thing, but all it does is make money for the inventor. Take that same money you would have spent on this and watch it swirl around as you flush it down the toilet. Same amount of fun; same amount of time without all the pretense of actually buying something.

Lasted about an hour Reviewer: R. Clark Lexington, KY 05-25-2005 Lasted about an hour of normal play. While it was alive, kids had a ball, er. disk, with it. If only it was made out of one of those high-tech materials from NASA that they use to survive re-entry. Now, that would be a good toy.

great in a padded room Reviewer: Heddalettis 05-12-2005
this toy is made of mylar. I bought one for each of my sons. They were both torn and useless within 15 minutes. One hit a tree branch, one hit a fence and had big holes in them. Worthless!

Torn within 5 minutes Reviewer: Amy D. Boggs south florida 05-12-2005 My daughter bought this with her own money. We brought it home, filled it up and it was torn within the first 2 tosses. It tore just a little at the edge, but it was just enough to let the air leak out. I contacted the company and got no response. She loved it and was upset when it ripped. Don't waste your money.

rip off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Reviewer: Anonymous 01-27-2005 I was at my cousin's house when they recived a hover disk. It looked so cool. My oldest cousin was the first one to touch it and probably the last knowing how these things go so far on a windy day,and it was a windy day.my cousin threw it and we watched it fly miles away untill it disappeared. What a rip off we all said.Rip off piece of junk rip off piece of junk.

What do people expect? Reviewer: irisheyes Ohio 11-30-2004 After reading the reviews you would have thought people spent $50 bucks on this toy. It is now clearanced to 6.99. Many people said they only had a couple days of use out of it before it broke. Well, I'd gladly pay 6.99 to entertain my three kids for two days. It sure beats the $100 bucks it would take for the same enjoyment for two hours at Chuck E. Cheeses. People don't seem to mind "wasting" their money on something like that which entertains for a couple hours, but they expected a mylar baloon to last a lifetime. If you go to a party shop and purchase a huge mylar balloon it'll cost you about $5 or more and deflates in a day or so...plus you can't use it like a frisbee either. I agree that the 12.99 price may have been a bit steep for the glorified balloon, but 6.99 is worth a days fun in my book.

Lots of Fun! Reviewer: L. Kelly Hillsborough, NJ 09-28-2004 The hover disc is a great outdoor toy. We filled ours with helium - the metal ring gives it enough weight that it will not float away. However, it is not good on windy/breezy days as once it catches the wind, it will float on forever. Despite that, my 2 year old son thinks it is the best thing. He is happy for hours running around outside throwing it in the air. Despite being stuck in trees, and blowing over to the next block, the toy has held up better than I had expected. It lasted all summer with only 1 helium fill. And even better - it's refillable. I just purchased 2 more for gifts for friends who always want to play with ours!

Fun for all ages...but you'd better have space! Reviewer: Lisa Fennimore Vermont 11-20-2004 I used this Hover Disc this summer at a school camp where I teach. The students and adults alike loved playing with it. Like anything you throw, tree interference can be an issue. This disc can be grabbed by the wind, due to its hovering quality, and flung on roofs, power lines, and trees, so I suggest large fields for play. It was torn after five weeks of daily usage by fifty people, but you really can't beat that for ten bucks.

Great toy to take to a park Reviewer: Pam Salem, OR 11-06-2004 No doubt about it, it's a big mylar balloon with a ring inside it to keep the shape. But the aerodynamics are great to experiment with. If you decide to buy this toy, please follow the instructions carefully. When properly inflated and used in an open setting, it will work beautifully and should last for white a while. I got the disc for my daughter in January 2003 and it's never had a hole or a leak. We only filled it with air, not helium. The packaging recommends helium only for indoor use, such as in a gymnasuim or another open area. (The tv commercials are a bit misleading when they show it being used in a home.) When filled with air, we take it to a park (a soccer field or baseball diamond) on a non-windy day and toss it around. We have a great time playing with it and running around with it. After almost a year it hasn't lost much air - we've never had to add more air - and has never had a hole. Bottom line: save the helium for indoor use only, use it only in wide open spaces (away from trees and powerlines), and follow the instructions in the package. I'm buying a few for Christmas gifts this year.

junk Reviewer: B. Catterton Grasonville, MD 10-25-2004 I bought this toy, against my better judgement, for my 8 year old son, and paid to have it inflated with helium. The commercial and the packaging said it was suitable for outdoor use. He and his siblings tried several of the manuvers shown on the commercial and played a game of their own. Within 20 minutes it had two holes in it and the frame was poking out through the mylar. This toy is a rip off and a piece of junk. I would NOT recommend this toy to anyone! Don't waste your money.

Breaks right away Reviewer: readingaway bookville, nc 10-24-2004 This toy ripped within about 20 minutes of play. It was fun while it lasted, but it made the kids cry when it broke. Won't buy one again!

TOO BIG! Reviewer: Anonymous 09-18-2004 This hoverdisc is simply a baloon with a plastic ring in it. It is very fun to use but it came with a hole in it and its too big to play with indoors; i've never used it outdoors. When I used it indoors it crashed into everything. I think its only good if you have a very large house/yard, be extremely careful with it and check to make sure there are no holes in it before you buy it.

A Child's Review Reviewer: Anonymous 09-05-2004 I think that this toy is fun to use but breaks easily. The Hover Disc is good because you can play with yourself or with someone else.I think the hover disc is an ok toy.

Stinks! Reviewer: Gray Early Grafton, MA 08-25-2004 My girls, 8 & 10 years old, love this until it got 2 rips in it in just a few hours. At the time I didn't have enough packing tape to repair it. Very disappointed!

CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!!!! Reviewer: S. Mall Oklahoma 08-24-2004 I AM SO DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS TOY. AFTER THE FIRST DAY IT WAS COMING APART FROM THE PLASTIC RING. THEN AFTER I TAPED IT ALL UP WE GOT ONE MORE DAYS PLAY OUT OF IT BEFORE IT GOT A RIP. MY KIDS ARE SO DISAPPOINTED. I FEEL LIKE I JUST WASTED MONEY FOR ONE DAYS WORTH OF FUN. I WONT' BE BUYING ONE OF THESE THINGS AGAIN!

Better than a Frisbie Reviewer: Rita Lorenzo New York, New York 07-12-2004 It's great for children 3 and up because it's easy to throw and is much safer and easier to catch. However, the durability of the product is poor because the rim around the disk is wire wrapped with mylar and rips/tears very easily when you throw it because that's where you grab on to it to toss. It should be re-inforced. Also, if you have trees on your property or many bushes, the disk can get torn easily when it lands in the trees/bushes.

The UFO Reviewer: Ben MA 06-21-2004 It was fun until my friend threw it high up and the wind blew it and it was goo(...)one

This is the best but... Reviewer: Anonymous 06-17-2004
You might have to blow it back up
every day. I got this for a birthday
gift Wednesday. Please don't let this
hover disc hit the powerlines but I
alomost did. I't should last a long
time. This flys as high as the
powerlines. Well I haven't tried
fliping it. I reccomend this to
anyone.

Fun for a day! Reviewer: Anonymous 06-16-2004 The hover disc is alot of fun! It's awesome, never has my family experienced playtime like this ever(especially when the breeze catches it). The only thing we don't care for, is it doesn't hold helium-for only a day. So the next day, it's due for a refill.

It glides as if it were a high-tech spaceship Reviewer: Anonymous 06-15-2004 You can throw it and it will glide for an enormous amount of time.It can also be thrown like a frizbee. It is awesome and it will make a GREAT gift for any holiday.

Waste of money~!!! Reviewer: Anonymous 06-06-2004 I bought 5 of these and my grandchildren 6 - 11 were warned to play very carefully with them. They did, but none of these lasted more than a week. That's a very expensive lesson to me~! Toys of this material should have a caution in large letters that they WILL break with not much effort~!

Great fun and very durable under the right conditions Reviewer: whooven Chandler, AZ 06-01-2004 This was a gift from a friend of my 8 year son. We'd seen it advertised on TV and were curious to try it out. Boy did we have fun! We quickly realized it's not a good indoor toy unless you have a big house. We took it into the back yard and despite several hard landings on our desert soil, it held up well. We then took it to a wide open park (we don't have many trees here) on a breezy day and flung it all over the place. If you give it plenty of space and avoid trees and bushes, I think this thing will last a long time. We've gotten two hours of hard play out of it already and it's still in excellent shape. This has turned out to be a fun gift and one we'll probably buy for someone else next time we need a gift for a kid in this age range.

It was fun but not. Reviewer: Anonymous 05-27-2004
This toy was very fun. Right when i got it i ripped the bag open and started playing with it immediatly. I played with it inside for about an hour then decided to go ouside, bad idea. I was having a blast until it started to just drop down after i throw it. Because of the winds there was a hole in it and could not play with it again. I almost cried because I will no longer be able to play with such a fun toy.

A let down Reviewer: Anonymous 05-17-2004 My daughter wanted this toy for weeks. It only lasted for maybe 5 minutes. We brought it outside, tossed it into the air, landing it bumped into something and immediately had a tear. By the time we were done, it had three tears. The outer ring poked through and now it is in the trash. Don't waste your money unless you have are going to use this in an open area free of any objects.

Overall Great fun ...while it lasts! Reviewer: Anonymous 05-02-2004 We got this for our six year old who loved playing with it every time we saw it in the store. Unfortunately, when we got ours home, it immediately got stuck in a tree and popped. I would recommend only using in wide open spaces where it is not as likely to get caught on something because it is not very durable. I don't think I'd ever buy one again.

SOOOOOO COOL!, April 26, 2004 Reviewer: Taylor Dacula, GA 04-26-2004 I am nine and my brother is thirteen and we love it. I had one and it blew away but I just play with my brother's. We played with it on Saturday. Just don't let it get caught in the wind and don't put too much helium in it. If you think it's good then you should buy it!

Don't Buy It! Reviewer: jaroquarters Alexandria, LA 04-26-2004 Fun while it lasted, all of 10 minutes. Overpriced and flimsy.
The product tears easily and isn't easily repaired. (...)

Save Your Money Reviewer: Anonymous 04-25-2004 My son got this toy for his 6th birthday and within ten minutes of tossing it around the yard it had a huge hole in it. Save your money--buy a frisbee.

blew away! Reviewer: Anonymous 04-23-2004 I took it outside and it blew away in 2 throws. It went up and never came down. My dad doesn't want to pay for another one.

Happy Hospital Hover Disk Reviewer: Anonymous 04-22-2004 Working in a large pediatric hospital playroom, we all think that the hover disk is GREAT! It has provided hours of entertainment. It is lightweight and easy for children with limited strength and mobility to play with. It has taken a beating form strechers and wheelchairs and has lasted! Good inside toy!

Fun but not to cool Reviewer: Anonymous 04-22-2004 A Kid's Review
The hover disc is fun but it is dangerous. I had one and it hit the power line and there where sparks and our power went out.SAVE YOUR LIFE AND SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!

Good Fun, but no good durability, and waste of money, Reviewer: Anonymous Cincinnati, OH 04-17-2004 Ok, the hover disk is FUN, but the problem is that it deflates and gets holes in it from going outside. The fun part about the hover disk is that you CAN do cool tricks with it, but i think that it is better with helium to do the tricks. Buy this toy if you are going to take the chance of it deflating and having to buy a new one

dangerous, Reviewer: Anonymous 07-15-2005 A Kid's Review
This is the worst invention I ever seen. You might as well get a big mylar balloon and play with that. This thing doesn't even really float. It can get broken so easily and the worst part is, a kid down the street had one of these and it floated right up with the wind, hit a power line, and burned part of the house down. Terrible invention. It does float a little thought so it's kind of fun for little kids, but it's not worth the money

Fun for the Whole Family Reviewer: Anonymous 04-14-2004 I was disappointed to find so many negative reviews for this toy. Most complained about cheap material and holes. The reason is because these people did not follow the instructions~fill the balloon, but not overfill it. Most people stated they overfilled the item and it popped. The instructions provide a method for reducing air in case of overfillings. I have had my hoverdisc for over a month and experienced no problems. My 3 kids (youngest 3) all play with this item. They toss it in the air, catch it, bounce off walls, and do crazy tricks. Never has it gotten a whole or bent. The wire inside the balloon is plastic, and only becomes damaged to overinflation. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TOY TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A UNIQUE AND FUN WAY TO GET AN ENTIRE FAMILY PLAYING TOGETHER. It is fun for ALL AGES!!! Very durable amongst my family.

Hover Disc is waste of money Reviewer: Joe Austin, Texas 04-12-2004 My Wife ran around town searching for a pair of hover discs.
She purchased them for the retail price of $12.99. After filled with air and about 20 minutes of outside use, they started going flat. The mylar rips off of the outside ring. They are not durable at all. The kids had fun with them, but since they are so fragile, they are a waste of money. After they start going flat, my children are disappointed with them as well.
Don't wast your money on this product!!!!

Despite it's ads, the Hoverdisc does not hold up... Reviewer: Anonymous 04-06-2004 My son also begged for the Hoverdisc after playing with a sample at Toys R Us. After about five minutes of play in the front yard (grass) with a couple of other children, the Hoverdisc started leaking. Up until then, the kids were having a great time, but the product is a COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT AND A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!

The Frisbee but Better. Reviewer: Anonymous 03-27-2004 A Kid's Review
It was very fun to fly in my yard. We have had tried it outside with Helium in the Hoverdisc, and it worked fine (Not in windy conditions) Just be sure if you buy it check if there is no hole already in the material.

Super Frisbee Reviewer: H. S. Hines 03-17-2004 This is an awesome toy. I inflated it with a hand pump (as I didn't feel like paying for helium when it says not to play with it outside with helium) and overinflated it. I released some air and the bar inside promptly resumed its shape. We took it outside and watched it fly. But one warning: If you have a small yard, DO NOT PLAY WITH THIS IN A SMALL YARD! It floats fast and far, which made us very nervous as it sailed towards the neighbor's roof on one side (powered by a 5 year old) and the fence with dog on the other side. So we took it to the park. I would have given it 5 stars for fun if it wasn't so nerve racking to watch it seem to fly away. But, it's soft and despite knocking into plenty of objects and children, did no harm inside or outside, even after sailing a couple dozen feet in the air and falling straight down. It took several hard falls and did not break. Our kids were not incredibly gentle with it (despite being told to) and it did not tear, wear or anything. If it comes with a hole: TAKE IT BACK (As it is obviously defective)! Ours took normal abuse from a 5 and 7 year old and attracted many kids, but as it was becoming too windy to control (DO NOT USE IN HIGH WIND) we had to put it up. But while the wind is low with plenty of ground to cover--it's an awesome super frisbee. Inside, with helium, it's a ton of fun, too and unlike a frisbee, you don't have to worry about it breaking anything, really--it just bounces off.

Mother of 4 Reviewer: Anonymous 03-15-2004 I recently purchased this product for my 10 year old daughter. After an hour of playing with this product , the disc started leaking air from several spots around the metal rim where the hover disc material had worn away. My daughter was not misusing the product in any way, but it just did not hold up. It is a shame because the girls were having alot of fun for the hour it held up.

Don't waste your time Reviewer: BARBARA Plymouth Meeting, Pa. 03-12-2004 My daughter begged for this toy for weeks after seeing it on tv and by chance we found one in Learning Express. We couldn't wait to get home and inflate it. We didn't have helium, so we blew into it with the straw. It was just ok when we took it outside, but she didn't like it cause it didn't look like the one on tv. So of course the next day I filled it with helium to make it fly like the tv...Big mistake, I over inflated it too. The plastic circle inside bent and wouldn't straighten even after we deflated it some. Then voila, my son poked it with his remote control car antenna and put a hole in it. I duck taped the hole to keep it goin longer, but then the circle inside broke in half and we couldn't use it at all any more. This toy is not durable in the least, just picture a regular old helium balloon with a plastic cirle inside. I thought it was junk and wish we got something else instead. Save your money

The Coolest Toy At The Park!, March 6, 2004
Reviewer: Christy Hodson (Austin Texas) - See all my reviews
First time my kids saw this beautiful hovering disc across the park we all ran over to figure out what it was. The disc just sails through the air slowly and it is a real treat for little kids and adults alike. My kids practically wrestled it out of the arms of the father and little boy who owned it so I knew it was a trip to Toys-R-Us in store. The kids have not seen the commercial that someone else commented on, we only know what we saw at the park. We now have one of our own and the kids cannot wait to go to the park and sail it. I think it is a great toy, visually interesting, makes you think about aerodynamics, runs the heck out of your kids to exhaust them, and is a simple construction at a low price for long term fun and minimal loss if it breaks..... it was cheaper than a trip to Chuck E. Cheese and a heck of alot more fun!

A friend of mine had bought me this Hover Disc as a gift and the first day I went out to try it ... I had over inflated it. If you over inflate the Hover Disc the metal ring around the hover disc bends and you need to release the air out in order to make it round again. In the commercials on TV the Hover disc looked very puffy and full of air but actually you only put a little bit of air and when you're done it definitely doesn't look like what it does in the commercials. Also trying to get the air out of the Hover Disc in situations like mine where you over inflated it is a difficult task. A friend and I were passing the Hover Disc around sucking air out of it with a straw that was enclosed with the packaging. Long review short ... it's fun but not worth your money. Just go buy a rubber frisbee or something instead. Don't let the commercial fool you ! In my opinion it's junk !

Really fun toy! Reviewer: Anonymous Wisconsin 10-09-2006 This toy is great! First of all, the comercial does not guarentee that it will last a lifetime, so I don't see why people are upset that it doesn't. A friend of mine had a spiderman one that she played with with her nine year old brother. Unfortunatly, another friend of ours threw it and accidentally let it hit a powerline, causing it to explode. Great toy for people of all ages!
