    Poor product

Pros: Good Idea for training
Cons: Requires a special practice bat, 90 day warranty.

Hit-away is a great tool for the coach who wants to stop hitting off a tee. However the Hit-away I purchased did not make it past a month. The ball broke, the strap became unraveled, and the website says to use a practice bat instead of a wooden, aluminum, etc. Practice bat is not sold nor defined. I bought the product because it is a good idea. I think it gives players the opportunity to learn hand eye coordination. I dislike it because it does not last and leads a consumer into believing they can use
any bat when they are extremely limited.

Pros: Great training tool, easy setup and adjustment, durable.
Cons: Can only be used with practice bats or low-end aluminum bats. Leaves small dents.

Overview The Hit-Away works great as a training tool for players of any age. It can be put on almost any pole or small tree. The improved Title Series Edition makes it even more efficient and durable than before. The Good The ...

    Not for younger players
Reviewer: Anonymous       12-28-2004
Pros: Good aid for good swings.
Cons: Not a teaching aid; not forgiving.

The Hit A Way will supplement and groove a swing that is already on plane (for example: an older kid who has been playing), but there is a problem with beginners and young kids.

If you are dealing with a youngster who is a beginner, or who is 6 or 7 years old, they probably will be swinging off plane, causing the cord on this device to improperly wrap around the pole. When that happens, the kid will have to stop and start over. If you work with the younger kids, you will agree that this will wear thin after about 10 minutes.

    Leave Hit-Away alone

I bought a hit-away for my 13 year old daughter so she could work on her swing in the basement during the winter. We set it up on a pole, and were ready to give it a try. It took us about 5 minutes to realize that this thing was not worth the money we spent on it. Save your money, hang a ball from a tree branch from a piece of rope. You'll get much more out of that.
Better yet, use a batting tee.

    They don't tell you everything

I'm sure this item would help my swing immensely, if I had started off with all the parts. Unfortunately, the makers didn't seem to think it was important to let the customer know that you need a BAT to make this thing operational. And they don't include it; believe me, I've checked. This could be the greatest invention in the world, but until they put a "bat not included" disclaimer on the packaging, lots of people are going to be disappointed.

    This Kinda Sucks
Reviewer:        08-03-2006
I got this when i was in third grade and kinda sucked at baseball. I missed the ball, got my bat stuck in the chord, got hit in the face with the bat and broke my nose. I'm in a competitive leauge now, but no thanks to this. If you dont have a coach, your swing will suck, no matter how many times you do it.
