    This thing is awesome!

I've had mine for 7 years. I use it regularly for onions, tomatoes, and other vegetables while making salsas, curries, chilies, pasta sauces, etc. No teary eyes when chopping onions--just quarter the onion, pop it in here, and spin for a few seconds. I also use it to grind hamburger after I cook it for tacos or chili to get it into fine pieces. It's very easy to use, stays razor sharp, and easy to clean. The whole thing goes in the dishwasher. The bowl of mine finally cracked, so I have to get a new one. If I could replace only the bowl I would, the blades and mechanical parts still are in excellent shape.

    Great little chopper

My mom got me one of these a few years ago, and if it hadn't dropped and cracked, I would still be using it regularly.

It's great for chopping onions, peppers, even spinach, and stuff like that. That's what I generally used it for, and you can make a good salsa or seasoning mix to store in the freezer.

My only complaint is that when you spin it, there is no grip to hold it still on the counter, but I still love it and I'm going to replace my old one.

    inexpensive but quick to quit

It's a great little unit but it requires a bit of effort being that it's operated by a crank. It is good for beating around very soft things like eggs and yogurt but fails miserably when it comes to chopping heartier things like vegetables. The problem is that the gears are made of plastic. After my 3rd pico de gallo consisting of tomatoes and onions the gears had stripped. Do not expect years of use out of this product if you intend to use it to chop any fruit or vegy that has not been pre-softened by boiling.
