It's A Health Hazard Reviewer: Anonymous 02-15-2003 Before I even used the pot, the paint came off when I took off the label. After using the pot only once, the paint inside the lid began to bubble and flake off. The concept is a great idea, but the quality is terrible. In my opinion this product is a health hazard.

A Piece Of Junk! Reviewer: Anonymous 02-27-2003 My Pasta Pro arrived with one of the handles broken off. I tried to contact customer service and all I got was busy signals. This looks like a piece of junk!

Sorry I Ordered It Reviewer: Anonymous 02-24-2003 The first time I ordered this product, the lid didn't fit. The replacement that they sent had both handles broken off. After that, I was sent a box of pasta, which I did not order. I regret that I ever ordered this product.

I Like It Reviewer: Anonymous 05-30-2003 I really like the Pasta Pro. I use to hate cooking pasta, because I dreaded draining it into a collander and losing some of the pasta. I also didn't like that you have to place the collander in the sink in order to keep from getting scalded. Sinks can be pretty unsanitary. With Pasta Pro, I find it much easier to cook pasta. I like draining the pasta much better and have never had a problem with the lid getting stuck or the paint coming off.

Threw It Away Reviewer: Anonymous 06-22-2003 I have a ceramic stove & the paint from the pot came off
all over the stove! I also burned myself trying to open it. I threw it away after using it once!

Construction Is Cheap Reviewer: Anonymous 04-07-2003 This product is made out of extremely thin stamped sheet metal. It is absolutely useless for heating anything other than water.

A Major Disappointment Reviewer: Anonymous 03-19-2003 After I drained the water from the pot thru the special "holes," I couldn't get the lid open! My husband had to get a wrench and use it with a pot holder to give it some leverage. It is a MAJOR disappointment.

Mixed Feelings Reviewer: Anonymous 06-05-2003 It took the water twice as long to boil in this pot, due to the surface area and poor heat conduction. The spaghetti tastes like it was cooked too long and not cooked long enough at the same time. I'm hoping it's just a fluke and not due to the pot itself. Overall I'm happy with the lid feature, which removes the need for a strainer/colander.

Total Piece of Junk Reviewer: Anonymous 02-05-2003 This is a worthless piece of junk. You can't even hold the pot's handles without protection when the pot is hot, because they're so flimsy and close to the pot. The handles get almost as hot as the pot itself! It's a great idea that was totally put to waste with cheap manufacturing.

The Worst Pot I Ever Owned Reviewer: Anonymous 07-01-2003 This is definitely the worst pot I ever owned. After about 10 uses, the non-stick material began to flake off. I had to throw away a whole pot of spaghetti because there were little bits of the non-stick coating all mixed in with it. It's in the trash now.

Total Crap Reviewer: Anonymous 02-22-2003 This pot is made from very thin metal. It caused hot spots on the bottom which then rusted.

A Waste of Money Reviewer: Anonymous 02-02-2004 This is a total waste of money. The teflon coating inside chips off & when I sent it for a replacement, the same thing happened again. If you like pasta with black teflon crumbs, this is for you.

An Awesome Concept Reviewer: Anonymous 09-29-2003 I have found this pot to be useful. It's an awesome concept. However, I would love it even more if the pots were made better. The bottom of the pot that has the nonstick coating, is starting to chip off. I am afraid to cook in it now because I think the paint will get in my food.

Mostly A Great Product Reviewer: Anonymous 12-08-2003 I really like the concept of the pasta pot. For the most part, it is a really great product. The smaller pot is great for just about anything. They are very easy to clean and are basically stick free. However in my large pot, some noodles got burnt onto the bottom, and the black lining is starting to chip off and rust.

Disgusted with Quality Reviewer: Anonymous 03-05-2003 The quality of this item is less than poor. I would be afraid to eat anything that had been cooked in this pot.

Piece Of Junk Reviewer: Anonymous 09-02-2003 The first time I used this, the coating peeled off where I had stirred gently with a wooden spoon. Also, the paint came off the bottom of the pot.

Getting A Refund Reviewer: Anonymous 04-09-2003 Even the packaging of this item is lousy. When it arrived, one of the pot handles on the large pot was shattered. The handles are made of 'bakelite,' one of the earliest plastics which is very brittle. I've never seen pots made of thinner gauge metal. You can't use something like this for anything but boiling water. General purpose cooking is out of the question because you would get a lot of scorching. They look like they're spray painted with car touch-up paint, inside and out. The size of the pots is also ridiculous. One is 6 qt. The lids don't fit and I scraped some paint off, while trying to force the lid on for the first time.
I'm not even going to try to cook in these. They're going right back for a refund.

Rip-Off! Reviewer: Anonymous 03-10-2003 This item is a complete rip-off! The pasta kept sticking. Then when I cooked the sauce, it was so scorched on the bottom, that I couldn't get it out! The paint on the bottom of the pot is gone now, replaced with dull, ugly circles. Buyer Beware!

Do Not Buy This! Reviewer: Anonymous 03-16-2003 This cheesy product broke within 20 minutes of my using it for the first time. The bottom of the pot was immediately scratched. The "enamel" is really only paint, & the pot is much too light. The handle on the top of the lid broke off as we were trying to twist the lid off the pot, and a piece fell into the pasta as we were trying to get the lid off. My husband had to hold the handles (as I put on some kitchen gloves) and twist off the top with the pasta still inside!

The Worst! Reviewer: Anonymous 04-04-2003 This product looks like something I bought from the dollar store. It is very light & looks like it has been spray painted with red paint, inside & out. It was also very scratched on the bottom. This is undoubtedly the worst item I have ever ordered.

Highly Recommended Reviewer: Anonymous 04-04-2003 I am very happy with my pasta pots. The coating hasn't come off, and I have even used metal utensils in it. I do wash them by hand and not in my dishwasher, but they clean like a charm. I would recommend it to everybody I know. It's a shame others have had such bad luck with it. I am very glad I purchased it.

It's Terrible Reviewer: Anonymous 04-07-2003 The Pasta Pro is TERRIBLE! It is the worst pot I have ever owned. The paint is peeling & overall they are poorly made. Don't bother with this.

Pot Is Worthless Reviewer: Anonymous 04-25-2003 These pots are absolutely worthless. The paint is coming off & the finish is floating in the pasta.

Cheap Quality Reviewer: Anonymous 04-29-2003 I was initially happy with my pasta pro. But within just a few times of using the pots, both lid handles have broken off. It appears that the plastic handles cannot tolerate the heat of cooking. In both pots, the screw holding the handle has fallen out during use and cannot be refitted. Without the nifty draining lids, I now have a couple of cheap quality, useless pots.

Item Returned Reviewer: Anonymous 05-06-2003 The paint on this pot peeled after the first use. The "non-stick" surface is anything but non-stick. I returned them after that, but I have yet to see if my credit card has been credited.

Horrible! Reviewer: Anonymous 06-22-2003 I am shocked at how horrible these pots are. They have turned to complete rust on the bottom, despite the effort to use the proper utensils. I don't feel safe about my 4 year old ingesting rust while enjoying her macaronni and cheese, so these pots are useless after only a few uses.

Shame on this Company Reviewer: Anonymous 08-08-2003 I was running water in the pot and the Teflon came off in sheets. This is the biggest piece of junk I have ever purchased. I have heard that Teflon causes Alzhiemer's. It should be against the law to sell such an inferior item.

Really Angry! Reviewer: Anonymous 09-12-2003 The first time I made pasta in this pot, the non-stick coating peeled off. Now, pretty much all it's good for is boiling eggs. I am really angry!

A Total Waste! Reviewer: Anonymous 01-29-2004 The first time I made a pot of pasta, I had those little black floaters all over my noodles. I threw the whole thing out. I boiled nothing but water in that pot for the next three nights to see if it would stop. The horrible stench finally started to go away, but that damn thing STILL flakes. I can't eat out of it!

this pan sucks Reviewer: Anonymous 03-11-2005 the stuff kept coming off the nonstick . Its thin metal . Not good quality at all

Worse than Garbage Reviewer: Anonymous 06-23-2004 Luckily, I bought this pot at a closeout sale and it only cost me 5 bucks compared to the 17 here, and over 20 on TV. Total and absolute piece of junk. Above all the other complaints, you can't even hold the pot's handles without protection when the pot is hot, because they're so flimsy and close to the pot, they get almost as hot as the pot itself! It's a great idea that was totally put to waste with garbage manufacturing. I've used about 3 times. Teflon scratching, the pot's been warped, burn marks, rust, all of the above. DO NOT BUY.

The worst EVER Reviewer: sid6581 Brooklyn, NY USA 06-17-2004 If only I could have put ZERO stars! Probably the single worst pot I have ever owned. The non-stick material began to flake off after about 10 uses. I had to throw away a whole pot of pasta because there were little bits of the non-stick coating all mixed in with it.

Crap, total crap Reviewer: David House Dallas, TX USA 04-15-2004 Good thing I purchased it on sale at a local store.
Both pots were made from very thin metal which caused hot spots on the bottom and they are prone to rusting.
Others made mention of making rice, I would advise against it as the rice might burn or otherwise be filtered out through the holes when you drain it.
A good idea but needs improvment.
BTW, some boxes of these contain a "free" cheese shredder. Do not both opening it.

Do not buy Reviewer: SYLVIA DEMAY Coral Springs, FL USA 03-29-2004 Twice, the large pot locking mechanisim failed splashing boiling water on my daughter and then again on me. ALSO It is not rust proof. When I left it upside down to drain after washing, the area under the rim began to rust as well as the parts on the lid where small areas of the teflon came off and I have only used it twice!!

The Counterpoint ... Reviewer: John Roffmann Tempe, AZ USA 05-26-2003 ... I did not have the problem of the lid falling off and splashing my food everywhere. My problem is the LID WILL NOT COME OFF!!!! That's right...my pasta is locked safely inside. And when I tried more force to open it, the lid handle broke, now it has NO GRIP OR WAY TO OPEN. Worse, Unscrewing the screws on the side only removes side handles, the "lid lock screws" are under another piece of metal (in case someone tries to break into the side like I tried to do, I guess.)
- I suppose if you are a lover for pasta who believes in pasta rights and do not want to see those innocent little noodles eaten, this is your toy...
- A few side notes:
- A) This is the FIRST time I tried to use it. Same with the other review. (I cannot confirm the "burn rings" since I can't open the lid to see them.)
- B) There is a cheaper knock off out there, that does not lock on the inside, rather a simple lip folding over the outside of the pot. When tipped, it leaks out the sides of the lid and you have to hold it in place with oven mitts, but it opens up. I have only seen a large version of this, I wish I could find a small one.
- This is a great idea...less stuff to wash. It is so hard to fathom that they managed to screw it up on the first try. And hopefully, there will still be the "outside lip" version on the market. I hope this poorly designed one does not kill the market for a useful product.
- (And for the record, the minimum rating is one star, it deserves far less, it deserves criminal action)

JUNK!!! Reviewer: Anonymous 02-02-2003 This is a total piece of junk! Don't waste your money or be sure you can return after you use it. Not only does it feel cheap but my electric stove coil burned the bottom so badly that it left a coil pattern on the inside of the pot. The main thing this pot was supposed to do is strain the water or fat out and leave the food inside via the "locking lid/strainer. Well I tried it with one little bag of 10 Minute Success Rice and the so called locking lid wouldn't stay on which splashed hot water onto my hand. The lid has small indentations that slide over small pegs in the pot but this locking mechanism is flimsy and doesn't work. I'm returning mine tomorrow! P.S. The only reason I gave it one star is because this site wouldn't let me post with no stars.

decent Reviewer: erinyeserin76@hotmail.com Las Vegas, NV 01-31-2006 it is not williams-sonoma quality, but i got what i paid for. you could do worse for $20.00.

Good Idea... Bad Product Reviewer: Anonymous Michigan 02-11-2007 This pot was horrible. The lid stuck, it didn't heat well, and the handles were hot.
I went and bought one of a different brand at the store, and it worked perfectly! So, instead of ordering this brand, go buy it in a store... it was cheaper as well.
