FLAVORWAVE DELUXE OVEN

Description: An infrared oven that cooks food evenly from the inside out. It will cook frozen steak, chicken, and any other meat faster than a microwave - without having to thaw out.

    I Love it!

This is a great appliance & I have used it more than any other I own. It works well to cook both frozen & fresh foods. I have had great results with both types of food. The foods come out tasty & juicy. I have cooked whole chickens, steaks, large pizzas, beef & pork roasts, hot dogs, sausage & more. It is large enough to cook for a large family. It is also really easy to clean.

    Overall I'm Pleased

Overall, I'm pleased with how the Flavor Wave performs. However it's not without its drawbacks. The single heating element necessitates flipping your food over. The other hassle is actually a feature of the oven. Once the timer reaches zero, the oven switches over to a "keep warm" function that will keep the oven at 190 F for 3 hours. The hassle is even if you remove the powerhead/dome unit off the oven and rest it on the dome support, the "keep warm" function will continue to cycle the heating light on and off until you press the "Off" button on the unit. They really should add a cut-off circuit to turn the oven off when the dome is removed from the base. The last, potential, drawback is the method of heating the Flavor Wave uses, which is basically a halogen light bulb. Easily more powerful than the Pillsbury Easy-bake ovens our sisters had as kids, it’s still a light bulb and I can’t help but wonder how long before it burns out as well has how much a replacement costs.

    Turkey Came Out Raw

I just tried my new FlavorWave Deluxe for the first time and was very disappointed with the results. The recipe card that came with the unit showed that a frozen turkey could be cooked in the FlavorWave at 400 deg. for 15 min./lb. I used the extender ring to accomodate my 10 lb. frozen turkey. I cooked the turkey in the FlavorWave for 1 hour at 400 deg. (breast side down), then turned it over and cooked it for another 1.5 hours for a total of 150 minutes. The outside of the turkey was cooked but the center was cold and raw.

    Very useful appliance

Have owned a Flavorwave Deluxe for almost a year now and have used it more than any other appliance I have owned. The cooktime sheet shows times needed for fresh or frozen foods. Both come out tasting juicy and flavorful. The unit has four preset time/temp settings for quick start cooking or cooking times and temperatures can be set manually for more control.

Some of the food items cooked in the unit: whole roasting chickens, buffalo chicken wings, steaks of all kinds, mini pepperoni breads, mini and french bread pizzas, large full size pizzas, toasted cheese sandwiches, pork and beef roasts, fish sticks, hot dogs, bratwurst, italian sausage, on and on.

Some of the nicer features of the unit: The amoount of fat cooked out of items while leaving them juicy - this was always a problem I had with the George Foreman grills. Generously sized, allowing one to cook enough food to feed four, five or more people easily without having to turn on a large oven. Cleanup is extremely easy - just rinse off the cooking rack and glass tray, wipe out the glass dome if needed and you're done.
