    Bad product

It worked two days then created constant static on the phone line so I had to take it off. IT WAS NO GOOD, I just lost $20

    This thing works!

My house use to get 10 to 12 telemarketing calls per week which resulted in me registering my number on the federal do-not-call list. But even after registering on the federal do-not-call list I was still receiving 10 to 12 telemarketing calls a week. So I relented and bought the telezapper and to my amazement THIS THING WORKED. Telemarketing calls to my house have been driven down to nearly ZERO. I paid $22 for it and its well worth the peace and silence this thing beings to my house....no more scam "please confirm your bank account information" phone calls during dinner, no more racing up from the basement to get to the phone just to find out the call is from some jerk trying to sell a "Florida Time Share" scam, no more missing tv/movie programs because some jerk is trying to sell a "new windows and siding offer" scam. My big fear in purchasing the telezapper sooner was my unfounded belief that it wouldn't live up to my expectations....its more than live up to my expectations, it far exceeded them. My only regret is that I didn't get this sooner. GOD BLESS THE INVENTORS OF THE UNITED STATES.

If you LOATHE TELEMARKETERS, I recommend this

I bought the zapper after I became completely fed up with telemarketer intrusions. I had one company calling 10 times a day... every day... starting at 7 in the morning. There was no computer or person on the other end to respond to. I have been on the Federal Do Not Call list since its onset. I ran reverse searches to find out who this invasive caller was so I could contact them to get them off my back. No luck. So I bought the Telezapper. The zapper got rid of them the next time they called, and I haven't heard back from them. It works on local telemarketers as well. The 3 beeps the zapper puts out every time you pick up the line isn't the device's best feature... but I love the returned privacy I have, and control over my phone line. Now when I see a telemarketer is calling I think, "Oh, yeah! I'm taking this call!" Because I know if I do, it's the last time I'll hear from them.

You don't have to use it Forever !!!

After a month or two, you can remove it...and lend it to someone else. The bulk of the telemarketers (as well as the Do Not Call exempts) will be gone.

Makes a loud, annoying tone when used with a cordless phone
Reviewer: An electronics fan       06-10-2004
I bought my TeleZapper for use with a new Motorola 2.4 GHz Digital cordless phone. Whenever I press the "ON" or the "HANDS-FREE" buttons on the handset, the phone emits a loud and annoying beep. This makes it very difficult to hold the handset close to you ear when you make or take a phone call. When I disconnect the TeleZapper, this loud tone is not present.
Anyone else have this problem?

    This really works!

I must admit, I didn't expect it to, but it really does! My unsolicited calls *almost* disappeared. BTW, I do not have a problem with a "beep" noise when I pick up the phone -- it just sits there and does its thing. If only I had one for the spam in my email inbox...

It works - sometimes too well

Great device... it actually works. A ring still brings you to the telephone though and, upon answering, you do hear a beep (Note: you even hear the beep when you pick up the receiver to dial out); it's a little annoying, but worth missing all of those sales calls. When a computer calls your house, as I said, you still get the ring and when you answer you hear a beep but then... silence. At that point you know TeleZapper has done its job. How does it work "too well?" Unfortunately I've discovered that it zaps computer generated calls from my hospital which they use to remind out-patients of scheduled appointments. But it works so well at zapping sales calls that I will not disconnect it. Now, with the government's "do not call" registry, I still leave it plugged in and am rarely bothered by sales calls.

    Love it

I have had my Zapper since Christmas 2002. It is wonderful! When you first install it your phone may ring when a telemarketer calls, but they have disconnected by the time you answer. After about two weeks the calls stopped completely. Charities and survey companies still call, which is the same with the 1-800-Do-not-call list. Now if it would just get my son's girlfriend to stop calling every 20 minutes, we would have it made.

    A pain.,

I never liked this device. For one thing, intruding calls still come through (your phone rings). For another, all it does is attempt to erase your number from the dialing computer's database (there are lots of these computers though!).
In that it might have been successful, but there are two better solutions. For one, you can get "Privacy Director" from the phone company. Anyone who calls you from a non-caller ID enabled phone must state their name and you get to hear their recording if they choose to ring through; you can then decide to take their call or not. My own experience with that system has been wonderful, though some friends and relatives whose phones are not caller ID enabled (this problem is becoming more and more uncommon) have griped about it a bit.
An even better option now is to just list your number with the "do not call" list mandated by the gov't. Just logon to www.donotcall.gov and list your number(s) there, and soon your phone will stop ringing during dinner.

    Do-Not-Call list works better

I purchased the TeleZapper. Imagine my surprise when we continued to receive calls from telemarketers. The Telezapper only blocks computer-made calls. It blocks all computer-made calls, even the ones we wanted. We were getting a large number of telemarketing calls not dialed by computer. We found the noise that it makes annoying as well. I returned it for my money back. With the new "do not call" list available at donotcall.gov, we rarely get calls from telemarketers now anyway. I can think of no reason to buy this product.

    HONESTLY.....IT WORKS!

I'VE OWNED THIS DEVICE FOR MONTHS. IT INSTALLED IN 2 MINUTES AND HAS ELIMINATED ALL COMPUTER-DRIVEN TELEMARKETING CALLS. IT EMITS A BRIEF TONE WHEN YOU RECEIVE A CALL "TRICKING" THE COMPUTER INTO THINKING YOUR NUMBER IS NO LONGER ACTIVE. OVER TIME YOU ARE ELIMINATED FROM MORE LISTS. YOU WILL LOVE THE SILENCE!
