ROLL-A-HOSE

Description: Roll-a-Hose is a 50 foot flat garden hose, similar to fire hoses, that pops up like a regular hose when you turn on the faucet. When you're finished watering, you can conveniently roll it up in it's own portable case. Roll-a-Hose is compact, easy to use and snag resistant.

     Junk

I bought this hose to carry around with as I am a house painter and sometimes I need a hose to clean up with. I decided to try it out before taking it on the job and used it to wash a car. The very first time I used it it started leaking in two places along the hose and also at the end where the nozzle was connected. Recommend just buying a regular hose as this one will not last very long and will be a waste of money.

Waste of money! Better off with a regular hose!

I bought this not too long ago. It was a pretty good idea at the time, as it was a lot manageable to roll after use. However, the materials used to manufacture it is very cheap and is really not commercial quality. After the 4th time I used it, it started leaking heavily along the hose itself (along the creased portion of the hose to be exact). It's totally unusable after, can't even recycle it and make soaker hose out of it, doing so is a waste of water. It seemed the plastic lining inside the nylon outer lining developed holes due to wear. I think rolling it on it's case(came with the product) contributed to the crease splitting open. This is product is a good idea (heck they use the same idea with fire hoses) but they cut corners manufacturing it. What did you expect? It's made in China.

    It Sucks

Great concept, but I can't stand mine.I used mine for the first time and had to unroll the entire hose to attach the connector to the water spicket. The design doesn't allow you to simply use the hose for a small job... to unroll all 50 feet for a small watering job is quite inconvenient. Then, when the hose is wet, rolling it back up is nearly impossible. You need the strength of 5 men. The second time I used it, it was too much of a hassle to roll it back up when I was done (and the man of the house wasn't around), so I neatly stored the hose on a hose hanger. The third time I tried to use it, I turned on the water only to find the hose covered with holes. Water shot out of the hose everywhere. Your best bet is to buy a much sturdier, more conventional hose. This one sucks!

    Useless!

My roll-a-hose didn't even last a year! In the advertisement the price qoted is 20 dollars. However when you call to order, they say the one advertised has plastic fittings on each end. If you want brass fittings, it cost another ten dollars. With shipping and handling and tax, I paid nearly $50! The worst feature is that you have to completely roll out the 50'hose to use it. It leaked after a year, and you can't repair it as you would with a regular hose. It's useless. Put your money to better use and get a good hose from the hardware store.

    Impossible!

I tried repeatedly to roll this hose back after I was through watering. It's impossible!!! I took it back the next day.

    Can't Recommend

I bought this hose because i needed a light weight hose to water plants on my porch.
The very first time I used it, the end that attached to the spigot leaked. The third time I used it, the hose sprang three leaks around the perimeter of the hose about 10 feet back from the head. It got me very very wet! I can't recommend this hose at all since its failure makes it impossible to use for the purpose it is meant for.

    Multiple Problems
Reviewer: Anonymous       05-10-2003
This hose has multiple problems. First, it doesn't roll up as advertised. Second, it is supposed to be stored at room temperature. Who wants to keep this wet, uncoiled monster in their house?! Third, you have to unwind the whole thing to use it. Forget it!

    Cheap & Worthless
Reviewer: Anonymous       07-07-2003
After using the hose for only 10 minutes, water started spewing out of the side of the hose. I returned it for a replacement & it burst in the exact same spot that the other one did. Save your money....this hose is cheap and worthless!

    Terribly Constructed
Reviewer: Anonymous       03-12-2003
After the second time I wound it up (which was nearly impossible), the bolt broke that holds the reel into the carrier. On the fourth use, the webbing in the hose parted company at one end and sprayed water all over, with nothing coming out of the end.

    Ridiculous!
Reviewer: Anonymous       06-20-2004
This is the most ridiculous contraption ever invented. It can't be used without being completely unrolled and removed from the reel holder. The hose kinks terribly and its exterior seems to tear quite easily. And re-rolling it is extremely difficult. It takes two people and a lot of time. I wouldn't accept another one if someone paid me to take it. What a waste of money! It deserves negative stars.

    Total Joke!!!!

My father bought me one of these as a house warming present. After two uses the thing split at the seams and started squirting water everywere. Also they don't tell you that you have to make sure every drop of water is out of the hose before you can store it again. I suggest buying a good non-kinking house and a good hide-a-hose box it works great and looks nice.

    Cool
