Description: Lift, tighten and shape all three major problem areas (hips, buttocks and thighs) with this intense workout.
Reviews (22):
Mixed Feelings Reviewer: Anonymous 05-22-2004 This tape seems to focus on the abs, despite its title. It doesn't raise my heart rate & I don't sweat, but I do feel the workout in my muscles. I find the instructor annoying as well as the setting. The instructor seems as though she was just reading the lines.

Low Impact Reviewer: Anonymous 07-29-2004 I really like this tape because it is low impact & great to get you back into shape. It focuses on the parts that "go South" first for women. It really works for me.

Very Disappointed Reviewer: Anonymous 06-02-2004 Most of this video focuses on the abs, not the buns, hips or thighs. I am very disappointed.

Too Slow Reviewer: Anonymous 02-01-2003 I found this tape to be for beginners only. As an "intermediate," I was very disappointed, because it did not challenge my muscles. I even tried increasing my weights, but I still didn't sweat at all.

False Advertising Reviewer: Anonymous 05-25-2004 95% of this video is geared towards abs. The title is completely misleading.

Size 14 to an 8 Reviewer: Anonymous 04-03-2002 This video is the best lower body and ab workout ever. After having my first child, I couldn't seem to tone these areas. I love this tape & I am now a happy size 8.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!, Reviewer: RuthieJ Philadelphia, PA USA 06-30-2001 I've been using this tape now for about four months. Incredibly, I've gone from tight size 12 jeans to loose size 8 jeans without losing one pound! It's amazing how much tighter and smaller I am, and I owe it all to this tape. Some of the tape uses ankle weights and dumbells, which you can keep increasing in weight so the tape never gets too easy. I use the tape three or four times a week. If you buy this tape, make sure that you send away for the free tape that "The Firm" provides- "20 questions on fitness"- it's very informative.

Excellent Quick Workout! Reviewer: "jaylinii" Jacksonville, FL United States 11-21-2000 This is an excellent workout for the buns, hips and thighs. Tracy Long is an excellent right to the point instructor and will keep you right on queue all the way through. The tape does start with a very good abdominal workout. Without it, you wouldn't see the same nice shaping of the hips. Those core stabilizer muscles are essential for all other body shaping and should be worked every time you workout. This tape also works all the major muscle groups from the waist down including the all important pelvic floor muscles. It's a short tape which is perfect for those days when you're running late but want to get in a good solid workout. As with all Firm tapes, this tape can be adapted to the beginner through advanced levels by adding weights.
My personal experience with this tape is very positive. I manage to slip this tape in once a week and have been watching my lower body begin to take on a very wonderful shape. All in all, it's one of my favorite workouts because it's quick and simple (I won't say it's painless ;) As with all Firm workouts, you will see results in 10 workouts. I started seeing results from Firm workouts after only 4 workouts and the results just keep on coming.
I'd recommend this tape to anyone who wants to shape their lower body. This tape can be used by beginner through advanced. If it's too easy you can slap on some ankle weights until you feel it working.

ABS, buns, and a little bit o' thigh. Reviewer: Sunday Jones St. Louis, MO 02-17-2000 I've been using the FIRM videos off and on for about 3 months. Recently I decided that I was going to start exercising "seriously" again and I added this one thinking that I could shape up my outer (and especially inner) thighs. While there are inner thigh exercises, it's mostly abs. I would recommend using this tape in combination with another exercise regime since it's virtually impossible to do a lot of the ab work--the leg extensions! (How do they DO that! ) without your back crying for mercy. I would have preferred more inner thigh work and less abs. It's still VERY good though, and the FIRM tapes are the best tapes I've ever used! (Eat your heart out Oxycise and Body Flex! )

Great lower body workout! Reviewer: Anonymous 01-06-2000 I have a few Firm tapes, and I really like this one. I have tried other workout tapes, and I have found that the Firm is the best. Because this tape is a "Parts" tape, it is a shorter workout. Tracie Long is a wonderful instructor. She cues very well, and she is motivating. Despite what the title says, ab work is included which is fine with me! I would definitely recommend this tape over "Lower Body Sculpting" which has several different instructors, and I don't like some of them as well.

Excellent beginner/intermediate workout Reviewer: Anonymous 09-15-1999 This is a great tape, but the title is misleading. It works the abs a lot, too. I use it on my "lazy days" because the Standing Legs video is much harder. Tracie Long is a good instructor, but I still wish they'd bring back Susan Harris.

Effective, though mis-titled; abs included and only 34 min Reviewer: Anonymous 08-27-1999 I am a long time Firm user and was surprised upon viewing this tape to find that, contrary to the title, it contained quite a bit of abdominal work. The title should be "Sculpted Buns, Hips, Thighs, and Abdominals." This tape (formerly called "Lie Down and Work Out")can best be described as the Firm Lower Body Sculpting tape with ab work included. The workout is compact and you can work up a moderate sweat. Bonus one: Tracie Long (fit, motivational, and gives good cues; leader of the Firm Tortoise, Hare, and Tough Tape workouts) is the instructor. Bonus two: this is the only Firm Parts tape (other than 5 Day Abs, of course) that includes abdominal work. The abdominal exercises are unique and challenging and the bun, hip, and thigh exercises (advanced exercisers can add ankle weights) are strenuous enough to provide a moderate workout. For a more challenging bun, hip, and thigh workout, check out the Firm's "Standing Legs" tape (which has three tall box segments, among others, that will leave you feeling the "burn" for a while after you have finished the tape). This tape is excellent for those days when you want to get in a good workout in a short period of time.

Not much of a workout for hips & thighs! Reviewer: Anonymous 08-16-1999 I bought this tape, mainly because the title says "Sculpted Hips, Thighs & Buttocks". There are only two very short segments for these areas. The rest of the workout is all abs. Mainly abs. I thought they put the wrong tape in the box. I gave this video away the next day. I'll stick with Buns of Steel!

This is a great video! Reviewer: Illinois 08-13-1999 The perfect video for someone who doesn't have tons of time to exercise. It's not a long workout, but it gets the job done. You don't need weights (but you can use them if you wish) and you don't need a step. It's also easy to learn the routine after you do it a few times. Results come quickly!

Misleading Title Reviewer: Anonymous 06-07-1999 I bought this tape expecting a buns, hips, & thighs workout. As soon as I popped the in the tape, she started working abs. It seemed like that's most of what she worked the whole video. Why don't they title it "Abs & Buns?" I didn't want an ab workout, I wanted a buns, hips & thighs workout like the title suggested. The instructor is too monotone and non-motivating for my taste, but some people may like her for that reason.

excellent!!!!, Reviewer: Anonymous 05-17-1999 Great workout! tones your abs (14 minutes of abs) tones your inner and outer thighs and glutes Tracie Long is a superb instructor and keeps ou highly motivated. All you need is ankle weights and a dumbell.

The best workouts ever Reviewer: Anonymous 05-11-1999 I own every FIRM workout video. After doing them steadily for one summer, I was and am fitter than after years of other videos, running, and lifting. If you really do what they tell you to, it will make a difference.

Efficient, effective workout with The Firm's best instructor Reviewer: Anonymous 04-10-1999 This workout gave quick results and was challenging but not impossible like some videos. Tracy Long is clear, concise and not cloying as many instructors can be. You will see and feel the results of using this tape very quickly. I must note that the first reviewer of this tape is completely wrong. There are no aerobic steps used in this video, it is all floor work and you do not need to buy any equipment. Ankle weights and a dumbell are optional. Evidently, the first reviewer never actually viewed the videotape. I highly recommend it.

Good if you didn't have to buy extra equipment to use it! Reviewer: Anonymous 04-05-1999 They don't tell you until you open the box that you have to have two separate "step-up" boxes at around $30 each to actually do the workout. Maybe that is why it is only $9

Great lower body workout Reviewer: Birmingham, Alabama 03-23-1999 This is an excellent lower body workout! I just recently started to workout again (2 weeks and counting). The video is completely floor work. I alternate this video with several others from The Firm library, and I am already seeing results! Of course, this motivates me to continue. I am a Firm believer! I have already ordered the Standing Legs video and I'm anxious to incorporate it into my current video rotation. The instructor, Tracey Long, is the best Firm instructor I've seen so far. If you want to firm up your abs, butt, and thighs, you will not be disappointed with this video. It's great for beginners.

Best Lower Body Tape Reviewer: Anonymous 01-30-1999 I started doing this tape a few months ago and have seen terrific results! The entire tape is done lying down, which I love because I have bursitis, and because lunges are bad for my knees. The title doesn't mention that there is some terrific ab work also.

Great workout for the lower body Reviewer: Anonymous 11-22-1998 This tape offers a great workout for the buns, hips and thighs. It also features at least 10 minutes of ab work. The exercises for the glutes really work. The workout isn't too advanced, except for one leg lift that I still find difficult. Tracey Long is a great instructor, though.
