    An Intense Workout
Reviewer: Anonymous       00-00-0000
This is a very high impact video that is very intense.
It is definitely cardio-focused, & uses only very light weights to intensify some of the moves.

    Great Workout
Reviewer: Anonymous       07-21-2004
This is a great workout for your whole body. It does involve some coordination, but it is easily learned after a few repetitions. At some points there was too much jumping, but you can modify this to fit your own fitness level.

    Easy to Follow
Reviewer: Anonymous       01-08-2003
If you are a busy person like me, you will really appreciate this video. I had been on a plateau for a long time, & with the help of this tape I finally broke it. I really liked the instructors & felt they really motivated me.

    Nice cardio variety...
Reviewer: Teedums   Roseville, MN    03-07-2005
This video is mainly cardio, but there are different forms
of it in this video. There are 4 step segments, some hi/lo
impact aerobics, and 4 limb aerobics using lighter weights.
Tall box climbs are also featured in this video, where you
step up and down on the Fanny Lifter which really elevates
the heartrate. Three different instructors lead this workout
alternating between segments. There is also a fun abs section
near the end of the video. A fun cardio workout with high
energy music. You will need a step box, fanny lifter, light
weights and a dowel or broom handle for balance. Not a really
tough workout, but does the job in getting the heartrate up.

    Fun Tape!
Reviewer: Teedums   Owings Mills, MD USA    03-09-2004
What's interesting is that when I first brought this tape home and tried it for the first time, I HATED it. On first glance, I thought it was corny, the instructors too peppy, and the moves were just silly - and I had already been using the Firm Body Sculpting System 1, so I knew the instructors.
Needless to say, I gave it another chance and now this video is actually one of my favorites. It contains mostly cardio, the sections were you use weights are still cardio sections (4-limb aerobics, not actual weight lifting). I use this video on days when I am letting my muscles rest but I still want to burn calories. The tape alternates between short step, high step and floor work and also includes bridge work and some pretty tough ab work. I always feel like I get a good workout from this tape. It runs about 45 minutes (including warm up, cool down & abs). I like the fact that it uses 3 different instructors (despite the fact that Allie is the only one displayed on the cover). If you don't get the moves down right away, concentrate on footwork and don't use your arms. Once you get the footwork down, then add the arms.

One issue with this tape (for me anyway), is that it includes a lot of hopping - bunny hops, jumping jacks, jogging, plyo jumps, etc. I am not as much into jumping and prefer lateral movement, plus you might keep this in mind if you live in an apartment. Some of the set looks a bit dated, but the music is generally pretty good. I don't like the fact that Allie is so obviously airbrushed on the cover. Doesn't she look great without that??? And finally, as usual, The Firm tapes do not mention water and this is an ongoing issue that I have with The Firm. So, if you are getting this video, keep water around and drink plenty of it while you work out. :)

    excellent intermediate cardio workout
Reviewer: Anonymous       10-04-2003
When i first started FIRMing I heard so many bad things about this tape. Well im gonna cut this tape some slack. Its awesome, especially if youre a beginner moving up to and intermediate exersicer. There are 3 instructors, Lisa Kay, Allie del rio, and Nancy Tucker. If you have the BSS1 FIRM tapes then you are familiar with them. They each take turns teaching different segments, which range from high impact plyos to slow dips on the short box. The one thing i love the most about this tape is the ab segment with Lisa. Its one of the best the firm has ever done and my abs are always sore after doing it. This tape is easier than past firm tapes so if you are an advanced exerciser then you might want to look elsewhere for a challenge.

Cardio Firm not a true toning video
Reviewer: Anonymous   Minnesota    09-06-2003
If you are an experienced Firm user then beware this video is strictly cardio and while it uses some light weights in a couple of segments it's just to get your heart rate up. It's also only about 25 minutes long and that's short for a Firm video. Having said that I really enjoyed the content of this video. It's got some particularly challenging segments using the 14 inch step. I love these. My heart rate goes up and I know it's giving my legs an awesome workout. Some of the other routines are moving quickly and so if you are a beginner you won't keep up. Having only that small step to use will cause you to miss cues and get frustrated. So for some people just getting started I would recommend setting up a regular step so you have a bigger platform on which to work. That way you don't have to worry as much with your feet not making solid contact with the little 6 inch step you can get from the Firm. You experienced Firm users should find this a good video to rotate in when you want a quick cardio routine. I use it when I am stringing 2 or 3 cardio routines together and want them to be quick and short because my boredom factor is low.

Hard for beginners, burt still fabulous!
Reviewer: Chelsea   Huntington, NY United States    06-15-2003
I am relatively new to home exercise videos, and when I purchased this tape as a local Sports Authority, I tried it and HATED IT. My mother was upset because it was a $...tape, so I decided to give it another to go and now it's my favorite tape, even surpassing the Bollinger Total Body Ball workout! It took me a couple of tries to get the hang of it and I still have a little bit of trouble with some of the segments, but just stick with it and it's great. Guarenteed to make you break a major sweat!

    upbeat fat burning
Reviewer: "bewaves"   NY United States    04-29-2003
This is a high energy workout. If you don't like upbeat and perky, this is not for you. But some, like me, like perky. Different instructers step up and take turns with the aerobic sections. There are dancy ones and more straight forward ones. The music is fun and varied. The aerobics are floor and step. I never did get one of those fanny lifting steps. I just use my 8" step for everything. I still get an effective workout. You will use light weight dumbbells and need a dowel or broomstick for two of the segments. The abdominal section is great with this rocking move that I don't have on any other tapes. I did not find the steps complicated. L steps are not difficult to learn and that is just one segment. I like tapes that provide aerobics and toning. I get a great workout from this one.

    Great workout!!!!!!
Reviewer: Anonymous       04-21-2003
This tape is one of my favorite cardio videos! At first the step combinations were very confusing and difficult but after trying it a couple of times I got the hang of it. This video is never boring and always makes me sweat. I would also say that it has one of the best ab sections I've ever seen in a cardio video. I would reccomend this for anyone.

    This is Great
Reviewer: stacey Fayant   Regina, Saskatchewan Canada    04-09-2003
I love working out and I love working out with this tape. It is physically challenging and in terms of the choreography. It is 45 minutes long which makes it great for when you don't have much time. The abdominal work at the end is really difficult and you can make it harder as you develope by adding leg weights. If you like chipper instructors that aren't all blond this is perfect. I love the jumping!

    super great!
Reviewer: Anonymous       03-24-2003
I know the choreography is difficult at first, but keeps you interested. It can be really fun and the change of instructors also keeps you interested. After I do this workout, I feel like I could do anything. Happy times with the FIRM

    Not for me
Reviewer: Anonymous       03-16-2003
I wasn't in the best mood today, but since I usually love the FIRM, I thought I could do it and it could lift up my spirits. Boy was I wrong. The aerobic sections with Allie were okay, but I really did not like Lisa Kay. I felt like they were making the workout choreography way too complicated. I have never been good with L-steps, but I tell ya, I just did not like Lisa Kay's cueing. Also, Lisa Kay looked, I wouldn't say pudgy, but not as fit as the other instructors. Looked to me like she had a belly. Anyways, overall, I did not like this tape. I will probably give it one more try in view of the fact that I was in a bad mood, and if I like it better, I may come back and give it a better review, but I doubt it. I ended up cutting it off and popped in Christi Taylor. It just wasn't my kind of FIRM. I was very disappointed.

    Fat Blaster
Reviewer: Reenie Skiparis   Chicago, Illinois United States    01-27-2003
This tape drove me crazy when my sister picked it up...in fact I HATED IT!!! I actually told her to return it because those "L-steps" were too confusing. Well, I tried it and it actually took me 6-10 times and suddenly it was FUN!!!!! I actually became addicted to it and looked forward to fitting it in every 2-3 workouts. Well, I'm happy to say I've calmed down (because it's kind of scarey when u r that attached to a tape!). I still do it and enjoy it and would recommend it, just keep trying!!

    Great for your video rotation!
Reviewer: Anonymous       07-25-2002
This tape will give you a very effective cardio workout in about 45 minutes. Never boring, the older Firm videos really deliver. This tape is fun and motivating, with beautiful production quality. The intensity is just about right - not killer, but with an 8 inch step (14 inch for some moves), it will definitely burn those calories, build those bones, and shape those muscles!

    Not their best
Reviewer: Anonymous       06-09-2002
I have lots of Firm videos, and this one is my least favorite. It is very dated, and is spliced from other videos. I myself, like new videos to add to my collection, not re-mixes of old ones. The moves are also very 80s; grapevines, plyos, etc. Lots of jumping so it's very high impact. I would recommend you buy a different Firm tape, or at least read the reviews from other tapes first before you buy this one. My faves are: Crosstrainers, Total Body Shaping Mix, Time-Crunch.

    Good Workout, for intermediate level
Reviewer: Anonymous       03-12-2002
Since no one has reviewed Fat Blaster I thought I would! Fat Blaster has three instructors-Lisa Kay,Nancy Tucker and Allie Strickland. My favorite instructor out of the three is Nancy Tucker, because she has a southern accent, and is easy to listen to . Overall I like this video, but I don't do it often because I find it can be too easy. There are more step sections in this tape than I would say alot of the FIRMS have, and there are three main "cardio" phases in this workout that include:
1)has grapevines, plyo's and bunny hops
2)has wide steps followed by walking up and snapping with your fingers while raising a knee/followed by raising one knee then extending the other to the back
3)going around in a circle extending your arms as you push your hips and plyos
The music is ok, I prefer Super Cardio's music much more..
this tape is good for intermediates, but with creativity on some of the step sections (adding weights to safe parts) this workout can be more difficult.
This is one of those tapes where you don't dislike but don't rave about it!
BUT I love all FIRM tapes, and believe in what they can do for me, so I do this tape occasionally if I haven't done it in a while!

Not the best Firm cardio workout
Reviewer: Joelle   Denver, CO USA    02-09-2005
I originally added this tape to my Firm collection because I wanted extra cardio and fat burning, which this workout does provide. But on the whole, Super Cardio does that much better. I now use this workout only when I'm tired or sore but don't want to miss a workout. Unlike Super Cardio, Fat Blaster doesn't commit to being just a pure, tough cardio workout, and it ends up being not effective enough. Don't look for heavy weights here, and don't expect to get typical Firm results from this one either. Some of the aerobics sequences are fun, but there is a lot of repetition, particularly in the short-box sections. The final stretching isn't as thorough or effective as in other Firm workouts, so I always substitute stretches that I've learned from other Firm tapes. On the plus side, I like the "rock & lift/extend & twist" combination in the abdominals section so much that I sometimes do this whole workout just for that part, even though it's not the hardest Firm abs workout. I disagree with some of the other reviewers who dislike Lisa Kay. There's something about the rhythmic way she speaks that I like a lot, and I never have a problem with her cueing. Bottom line -- if you're looking for a great cardio and fat burning workout to supplement other Firm workouts, go with Super Cardio instead. If you're looking for your first Firm workout, go with Cross Trainers Firm Cardio instead.

    For occasional viewing
Reviewer: Anonymous       06-18-2002
I have a ton of firm tapes and have been doing these workouts for about 10 years... I do a lot of the old total body tapes because the new ones are too easy. Fat Blaster falls in this category. On the down side, Lisa Kay is a terrible instructor - she doesn't call the moves in time and sometimes calls them incorrectly - I have the routines memorized and she sometimes still confuses me with her instructions. On the up-side (if you like aerobics) the workout is faster and more high energy than other Firm workouts. But since it's easy, what I do is I add it to another Firm parts tape like tough tape, standing legs, abs hips & thigh total body or sandwich it halfway in between the routines on the time crunch workout. So it works to extend the cardio section of any of the other workouts. It's too easy to do it just by itself, I find.

NOT THE BEST FIRM FOR SURE
Reviewer: Anonymous       05-24-2002
Hello~
I don't want to get flamed for not liking this video, but..it is BAD! And I am a true FIRM BELIEVER!

This video (and its companion BETTER BODY AND BUNS because of the tri-trainer aspect of the videos) are both bad!
I can not explain it, the combo of the three instructors is weird and choppy and it seems sterile and icy.
Personally I like one instructor, or as in SUPER CARDIO, FOUR instructors but the way they introduced each other was weird.
I love Allie and Nancy, but this video does nothing to show their talent as instructors at all! Nancy is great in Super Sculpting! She seems more relaxed and more personable.
ALSO, the music on this FIRM is not very motivating!
It is slower and not so spunky and fun as other FIRMS.
This FIRM is geared toward light intermediate work I believe.
As you will see, the cast changes w/ FIRMS geared to different audiences! The PRIME POWERS videos have older people in the videos, and in the Cardio videos, younger. And this one has people who "look" like intermediates!
There are some highlights in this video-
1)Allie Strickland's three good aerobic sections
AND
2) Nancy Tucker's tallbox dips.

Overall I was dissapointed in this workout..the worst is-
1)Lisa Kay's stepping sections-too repetitive, boring, not very hard
2)Un FIRM like music, very boring not motivating!
3)The choppiness, how each instructor introduced the other, slowing the workout down.

This isn't HORRID, but I recommend (for intermediates)
maximum body shaping, or maybe even PRIME POWERS w/ heavier weights, BUT this is really one of the only intermediate type FIRMS out there. If you really enjoy BBB (Better Body and Buns w/ jen carman, jen peluso and taber bruner) then you will LOVE LOVE this workout, If you like one instructor throughout the video you will be disappointed!

    Stick to the Classics
Reviewer: Anonymous   Boston, MA    10-09-2001
This video is not easier than the classics. The instructors are robotic and the choreography is choppy and jerky. The large number of props used seems to suggest that the new FIRM is more concerned about selling accessories than providing a good solid workout. Overall, one of the worst workout videos I have seen.

    A Different Kind of Firm.
Reviewer: "jaylinii"   Jacksonville, FL United States    11-16-2000
I've been using the Firm workout series for some time now. I just love most of their tapes. This tape was a little different though. I didn't like it very well when I first got it.
I bought this tape several months ago because someone said it was easier than most of the tapes in the Classics Series. I was fairly new to the Firm and had been working out with the Firm Basics series which are beginner tapes. I thought this tape would make for a good transition from the easy Basics tapes to the much tougher Classics.

I tried to do the tape once and it got put away in a box for several months. The choreography seemed too confusing for me. It seemed like a silly workout compared to the Firm workouts I was used to. Recently, I was challenged by a friend of mine to get this one back out and attempt to learn the steps.

Once I set my mind to learning the steps this tape became a lot of fun to do. It's a good aerobic workout and has what I feel is one of the better abs sections in it. I also enjoy the stretches in this tape. It has a little tall box work and some lunges and dips that are done off of the short box. At first, I didn't like those either, but they have grown on me a lot. I especially like doing dips off the short box.

This tape is what the Firm calls a "fast and light" tape meaning that it's designed to be a 75% aerobic and 25% strength workout. It most defiantly achieves what it is designed to do. Personally, I like a more strait forward workout with less designer steps to learn, but since I bothered to learn this one. It gets used.

I would recommend this tape for anyone who is looking for calorie burning aerobic workout and has who has the patience to learn the steps required. As with all Firm workout tapes, you will see results in 10 workouts (I saw results in 4 workouts and continue to see results at a steady pace). This tape would be good for a coordinated beginner to intermediate person.

You need a tall box (12"-14"), a short aerobic step (4"-8"), a 48" dowel (or a mop handle)and light dumbbells for this tape.

    It working for me
Reviewer: Anonymous       11-06-2000
I had been a faithful user if the Firm Classic tapes for years and then became a couch potato and gained alot of weight. This tape has got me back into regular excercise. I have been using it a little over a month and am noticing a difference in my weight and tone. It takes a littles time to master one of the box segments but otherwise is very good.

    Liked This One!
Reviewer: Anonymous       09-18-2000
I am not a big fan of The Firm, even though I have a few of their tapes. I do like this one though, as I am coming off of a back injury and thought this was a good tape to get me back into shape! The moves are small and controlled and the pace allowed me to concentrate on keeping my posture correct while keeping up with the tape. I also think it was a very good overall workout, as it targeted upper and lower body and combined it with some aerobics. Prior to my back injury, I would consider this tape to be a good lite workout if I did not have a lot of time.

Great to mix with other firm videos!
Reviewer: Anonymous       08-06-2000
I really like The Firm video series, and I really see a difference when I use them faithfully! I bought this video and have been using it for about two months. I like to alternate it with other Firm videos that use heavier weights because I don't think it's good to use the heavy weights every day. The Fat Blaster workout gives me a good aerobic workout, and it has a great ab routine. I'm still working at mastering the step routines, which move very quickly. Some of the routines use a dowel to help with balance, but this is probably not necessary for more advanced exercisers.

    I've changed my mind!
Reviewer: Anonymous   Oregon    07-22-2000
I gave this video a bad review, above, when I first bought it.
I got it out again, and did it a few times, along with another Firm video called Tough Tape.

These are both excellent workouts. Once I got used to them, I really enjoyed them. Now I like all the cueing and equipment. Go figure.

I use my two Firm videos more than all of my other videos combined.

:)

    All Cardio, All Fun
Reviewer: "julies_27"   San Jose, CA USA    06-21-2000
This workout is very different from the traditional Firm workout because only very small (3-5lb) weights are used. That being said, this workout is incredibly fun and lively. The music is very modern. Most of the routines are fast but some are a bit slower, and the video is lead by 3 different instructors, so there is always a lot of change which combats boredom. You need both a shorter aerobic step and a "tallbox" (12-14 inch), plus a dowel (or broom). I would say that none of the routines are that hard to follow for those of us who are choreographically challenged. Buy this tape if you want to sweat for 30-40 min!

    I like this one
Reviewer: Anonymous       04-20-2000
I have been rotating this tape with "Maximum Body Sculpting" and "Better Body & Buns" as the company recommends for a well rounded variety. This tape used to be called "All Cardio" so be careful not to order a tape you already have. I had a hard time with some of the sequencing of steps, at first, but am getting the hang of it. The music on this tape is very good. There is a lot of prop changing. The equiptment needed is way too expensive if ordered from the company. For the dowel, I use a 1" PVC pipe cut 4' long. A broom handle would work fine too. For the tall box, any steady stool the height you want will work. I use a shower stool that I already had. For the short box I use the step I already had and turn it sideways.

    A happy customer
Reviewer: Emmeline Esders   London, Canada)    03-17-2000
I have 10 FIRM videos and although I don't find this one to be the toughest workout or the most effective, it is the one I look forward to doing the most. The music is great and more upbeat than the classic FIRM videos, the aerobics are fun and interesting, but the strengthening and toning sections are weak compared to other FIRM videos. However, this is the perfect workout for those days when you don't want to waste your workout time but you're not up to pushing yourself to the limits. For those tough days I recommend the first three FIRM classic videos, their Cardio and Strength Crosstrainers, or their new Cardio Burn.
I was very surprised that some reviewers weren't happy with this video because I would recommend it to anyone.

    Very disappointed
Reviewer: Anonymous       02-09-2000
I viewed this tape and sent it back. It's very difficult and unmotivating. I've been a firm believer for a year now and enjoy the firm workouts. This one misses the mark completely. I would not recommend it.

    Disappointing
Reviewer: R. Miller   Oregon    02-05-2000
I bought this video after reading good reviews on most of the tapes by The Firm. I should have rented it first. If you are in any kind of decent shape at all, this video will do nothing for you. I was expecting more work with weights--there was hardly any. I have wimpy muscles and it was still too easy for me.
The instructors talk constantly, only they're calling out moves you won't be doing for a few more seconds. Then, moves are only repeated a couple times and as soon as they're caught on to, you're off to another brief set of moves--again, with instructors talking about something else.

Too choppy, too confusing, too wimpy, too fakey. I felt like I took a brisk walk around the block when I was done, not like I had a "Total Body Workout", and I'm not exactly a fitness machine.

Hope the other Firm videos are better.

    Too little weight work
Reviewer: Anonymous       07-05-2000
Firm videos are great for their weight work but this one falls short - great for the dancing, old-fashioned aerobics crowd but not for people who want weight work, the tall step and as little prancing around the living room as possible. If you're looking for good weight work, try the Strong Body and Cardio tapes. They include some geeky small step and dance parts but I just fast forward through them and go for a short run. Like several other Firm tapes I've purchased that strayed too far from their basic weight work, this one gets donated to the library.

The Firm may have good tapes, but lousy customer service
Reviewer: Anonymous       06-14-2000
The Firm's customer service is awful. Order your tapes from amazon.com or elsewhere. They keep changing the names of these tapes, which is so confusing that even the customer service reps don't know what they are sending you, and then they want you to pay the cost of sending the correct tape!

    I was impressed!
Reviewer: Anonymous       06-03-2000
As a very out-of-shape and overweight former exercise enthusiast (now trying very hard to get back into shape and lose weight), I was really pleased with this tape. Having never taken an aerobics class, and never exercising to a tape, I didn't know what to expect, but it's challenging and fun, and I got most of the moves down after the second time. My only complaint is that you really need the aerobic step and high step to get the maximum benefit from this workout--a chair works pretty well for the high step, but I have yet to find a good substitute for the aerobic step. Still, this tape definitely got me going well enough even without the special equipment. It's a nice alternative to my walking routine, and I'm looking forward to trying some of the other tapes in the series.

    Surprisingly effective
Reviewer: Anonymous       05-22-2000
I own approximately nine Firm videos. At first I thought this was too easy. After doing it several times when I felt lazy, then alternating it with other Firm videos, this tape has become one of my favorites. Once you know what to expect (the cuing isn't the best of their tapes) this is a good, non-boring, fast-paced workout. It DOES work. I definitely recommend it.

Enjoyable, makes the time go by quickly
Reviewer: Anonymous       05-20-1999
I liked this video. I have several other Firm tapes, and there are a couple I like better, but the cardio moves are fun, and it has an ab section I don't hate! I will use this one often.

by far the worse Firm video!
Reviewer: Anonymous       05-13-1999
This is not a total body workout. It has a strong emphasis on aerobics & very little body scuplting. The instructors are horrible. I agree with some of the other reviewers that this video has unsafe moves. This is not up to par with other videos in the Firm series.
I have 9 firm videos - this is the worse. Better ones to try: Firm Aerobic Mix (if you're looking for a aerobic workout) or Total Body Abs Hips and Thighs Sculpting.

    Terrible!
Reviewer:    Addison, Vermont    05-12-1999
A friend got me into the Firm tapes. I have viewed 3 of the ones she uses and really liked them. They all had good overall workouts that really make you sweat. So I ordered 2 different videos then the ones I had viewed, the Fat Blaster being one of them. The camera work is terrible! The camera would move before a foot sequence was complete, so I had to stop several times in mid-step not knowing what the next move was. I also found this video to be too easy in comparison with the other videos I viewed. A fat blaster it is not!I want my money back!

This is what I was looking for in an exercise video
Reviewer: Anonymous       03-29-1999
This is the first work out video I bought so I don't have much to compare it to. I work out a lot at a gym and got tired of having to go in all the time. (plus I get tired of being on a machine for 30 to 45 minutes at a time.) So the video adds some variety to my work out schedule. I'd say I'm in good shape and the video definately makes me sweat. It is hard to get all the moves right at first but I don't worry about it: I just keep moving. I get a little more in sync each time I watch it. Sometimes (when I want an extra hard work out) I'll pause the video between sets and do push ups, kicks, etc. I think the ab section could be harder.

    High Intermediate Level
Reviewer: Anonymous       03-27-1999
This volume of the Firm is not as grueling as the famous "classic" series, but I like it more. It combines fun cardio routines and tall box work with a thorough abs segment. The three instructors are personable, not fake. Especially Allie Strickland, who makes me smile.
They brought back the old set and use great music, especially in the classical cooldown.

    takes some getting used to..

This is a great cardio workout, once you learn the routine. It's fast and you'll have to go through it a few times until you're able to make the transitions, but after that; it's great!! I have 10 firm videos and this used to be my least favorite because it's confusing at first. I made myself do it once a week though, and now it's my favorite becuse the aerobic sections are actually fun. Lots of variety and a great ab routine at the end make this tape work.

    Disappointing and misleading
Reviewer: "michelereilly"   NY, United States    03-22-1999
I was very disappointed with this FIRM volume. I have several other FIRM workout tapes and this is by far the worst I've seen. The floor aerobics portion is continually billed throughout the workout as being "low impact aerobics". It is not at all low impact except for the occasional marching. Mostly it is actually high impact with jumps, jumping jacks, and leaping side lunges. Aside from this, the music does not match the workout pace and could be confusing to some. I am also concerned about the safety of the abs section. They do something called a rocking crunch that can't be good for the back. It certainly hurts mine, so I won't do them that way. I love the FIRM and they have some great tapes. This is not one of them.

This is my favorite workout! EVER!
Reviewer:    Ohio    03-17-1999
I love all my firm tapes but this is my favorite because it is 45 min. (instead of the usual hour) It has a good amount of weights/lunges/abs etc. while focusing on cardio--big time! I don't usually like jumping around to much but the hight intensity segments are balanced with lower intensity step work. But, the best part of this video is the upbeat and interesting music--it is VERY motivating.

I was surprised that this video required so much equipment: low step, high step, and weights. Also, their "low-impact" aerobics involved a lot of bouncing, which I cannot do. The transitions were good and kept the tape from being boring, but the leaders traded off with extremely fake smiles and theatrical hand-waving. A real turn-off. Not for beginners; maybe I'll try it again when I'm in better shape.

    Not very tough

If you have the other Firm tapes, you may be disappointed in this one. The tape uses very light weight and the instructors are not as good as in earlier Firm tapes. 3 different instructors provide some variety but serve to confuse more than entertain. The first and third instructors do not call the moves before they begin doing them and they don't call changes to the routines ahead of time. This one takes a lot of practice to be able to do it without stopping, which means it will take a while before you'll get the routine enough to break a sweat. Kind of a disappointment for the Firm, but still higher quality than most work out tapes.

    Great workout - fun

This is the first fitness tape I ever bought and I am wondering why I didn't sooner! It is easy to follow, the instructors are great, and it is a lot of fun. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
