This program is tough, but after a week or so you'll find yourself completing each exercise. It won't happen in 8 minutes. You need to keep doing it every day to get good results. If you watch what you eat, along with this, you'll have good results.

After a week of using this tape I noticed a big difference. I went from a 38" waist to a 36". And amazingly enough it was not boring. In doing 9 Exercises for 45 seconds you hit all the moves. After 8 short minutes it's over and you get results. It's like having a personal trainer in your living room everyday.

If you haven't worked out your abs in a long time, watch out. For a beginner, the exercises are too strenuous and you will get frustrated quickly. This video sucks and you do not get perfect abs in 8 minutes. Try 8 months...



    Effective Workouts for Lazy Folks Like Me

I hate to exercise, but since the alternative is to look like a pre-Subway Jared I tend to do so in fits and starts. The 8 Minute series has been a staple in my on-again, off-again exercise repetoire. Not only do I find these videos tolerable for everyday use because of their quick, efficient moves, but thanks to Jamie's cheery exhortations to "firm up, guys!" and the goofy synthesizer music looping endlessly in the background, they're even sort of entertaining in a spooky, ultra-camp way.

I first bought the Abs and Buns set about 5 years ago and I'm purchasing the same set again today. I've worn my original Abs video out from overuse, and I gave Buns to a friend who needed to firm up before her wedding. As Jamie says, "they work!" After 2 weeks of just-about-daily use, my mush-gut becomes noticeably firmer and my pants fit better. Even for a lazybones like me, it's easy to stay motivated to do these exercises day after day because they take so little time and the results come pretty quickly.

If you're like me, you'll experience a little soreness and may not be able to do all the reps the first couple of times you try these exercises. However, if you stick with it they become very easy, as well as easy to fit into your daily routine.

Also, for the price, it's hard to go wrong here. Ten bucks is a small price to pay for muscle tone and a healthy dose of motivation (not to mention the groovy synthesizer tunes)!

Amazingly this 1994 set of tapes is a lot of fun, and i am feeling results in two weeks. I use the quick fix Pilates tape to warm up, then do 8 min abs, then buns, then crawl to the shower. The physical quality of the tape is suspect, mine does not rewind well, I suspect i will be replacing in a month or so. I am seeing results, and feeling better. Just 8 mins does make a difference!

ok, i used these tapes for about a week-- already, they're warping (and apparently i'm not the first person to experience this). the workouts are good for what they are. you will feel the burn, but don't expect quick & dramatic results from 8 minutes. the abs workout is most challenging for me, mostly because it puts a lot of strain on the neck (at least it does for me-- maybe i'm doing something horribly wrong), so my neck muscles were sore after the first couple of times. now i just cheat-- i put my hands in the back of my head for some of the moves instead of leaving them at my side. that helps. re: the buns workout, it's good, but (and again, this might just be me-- i have sensitive skin...), my living room is carpeted, and since most of the moves are floor moves, my forearms started to get really irritated after a few workouts. also, there's really no "counting" in the tapes, really-- you just do the move for 45 seconds or a minute or whatever. the people in the tape do them at different paces. for me, it's confusing, although i can see how that flexibility is useful for beginners who need to go a bit slower. i'd say the workouts are an ok bargain-- they go by fast, and the moves are good. for real results, though, combine them with other workouts or activities. i don't think it's realistic to expect too much from an 8-minute workout...

I was surprised to find that there is only one 8 minute workout on each tape, unlike the Abs of Steel tapes which contain 3 workouts to rotate. The actual content of the tapes varied. The moves on the abs tape were customary and effective, although after doing the same routine daily for a while it would likely lose its impact. The buns video was not as effective and terribly hard on the knees. I had concerns about the form and discontinued doing it to be on the safe side. Both tapes are extremely fast paced and it is important to move at your own speed so that your moves are done safely and properly. Don't try to keep up with the host, he moves much too quickly.

Overall, I dont recommend this film. The abs of steel series are a better value with more diverse workouts, and some quick biking will do the backside more good than 8 minute buns.

Hello im a second time buyer of these wonderful videos they are so easy to follow and the time is such a plus and not only that all the extras on the dvd i got helps me to push my self to other types of workouts!i would recomend these to everyone they really do work as stated in the work out them self, i have had them going on 6 weeks and i am starting to see results!! and i pass them to friends and share them also by word of mouth ..with that all i can say is iam glad i found this website and the videos......thank you

I had a baby in April of 2001, and I was up to 192 pounds (also i'm only 5'3!),so I tried the ab roller thing and other stuff and it didn't really do much for me. I mean I lost some weight, but I didn't get the results I wanted. In July of 2002, My mom bought me the 8 Minute Workout tapes so I started doing it and I got results so fast it amazed me!! I was a size 12, now I'm a size 7 and I weigh 118 pounds!!! I never thought it would worked but I was proved wrong.

okay....I bought the video because 70% of men and women have the major fight to have a flat stomach and some butt. I am one of them. I use to have a great figure but since pregnant twice, that figure decide to take a walk down the road. now the big deal...i hate situps!!!can't stand them especially when you hear some many people do 100 pushups a day to get that hard rock stomach.saw this video and decided i could use 8 minutes out of my time to do it. played the video and i loved it..it went through quickly but the major points was when it did all the major exercises to flatten the (8min)abs and (8min)butt. in all 16 minutes. you actually feel it working!!and by the time you turn around the session is done. its cool....

I want to comment on the buns exercise portion of this video. I have been working out on a regular basis pretty much for the past 2 1/2 years. The exercises on this video are *the* ones which I've found to be most effective for firming the butt. Without losing any pounds, I have lost inches and have went down a pants size! This happened after a few months of consistently working out to this video. I aim for 3 evenings a week. It's not hard at all to follow and it works! I highly recommend it. The exercises are simple, but effective.

If you're new to weights and/or exercise, if you're overweight or out of shape, if you have a physical challenge, or if you just want something quick and effective to tone your arms and buns, this is an excellent video.
You'll get a very effective upper body workout with the arms part. It is, admittedly, a bit short. I find I don't always get more than 8 reps in the one set. That's not really enough for most people. But if you use a five pound weight at least and do this twice a week, you'll firm up. And remember, you can use this as a nice start for another set or two with heavier weights on your own if you like.

This is a no-nonsense workout. It's well presented and timed. It's not for everyone. But it is effective if it fits your needs and time constraints. I suggest you warm up for about five minutes before you do either or both of these workouts.

The buns workout is very good and effective too. If you have bad knees, you may want to adjust some of the exercises like the deep knee lunge. Know your limits and work within them. But if you do these exercises, you'll slim down.

I suggest you do either or both of these twice a week if you can.

I highly recommend this video.




    Short - But really works!

Why get a longer video when this one does the job? The abs workout is tough if you're a beginner as I was when I first bought this video. I hurt for days! But as I continued with the video at least once a week, I got much stronger. Once this happens, you may want to go to a more advanced video. Or you may opt to stay with this one. I still use this one but I mostly use Rodney Yee's Ab workout now. But my point is, this video does work and you'll know it!
Strong abs are very important. And after you've done this a month or so, you'll feel better and stronger.

The 8 Minute Buns is also a very fine workout for that part of the body. It's simple and effective for those places that are troublesome, especially to women. Eight minutes is about all I can take. I do have bad knees so I adjust some exercises a bit. But even with bad knees, you can do this video.

If you want a more challenging workout, you'll need to look elsewhere. But I love these eight minute workouts. I often do the abs followed by the arms, which I love. Sometimes I just do one of the groups of exercises.

I highly recommend this tape for beginners or for those with physical limitations or challenges and for those with little time to spend exercising.

i have been on doing this workout for nearly 2 months now. and it has given me some results though not much for the lower abs. it was not as hard as i thought it would be.
the buns excersice it absolutely horrible to do the position gives me a shoulder pain and seems more targeted for the legs than the butt.even now i find it hard to complete the buns video.

This workout is difficult when you start but never gets to easy to be useful! I lost 5 inches from my waist in less than 6 months not to mention how much firmer my back half got! It is much easier to squeeze 16 minutes into my day than it was to find room for fitness equipment and the time to use it! This video is definately worth the money and effort!

I have tried all four 8-minute workouts, and these two are the best. A group of us did it at school for six months, and you should have seen our "before and after" pictures. True, doing ab exercises won't remove any fat, but it does tone the abdominal muscles in a very short timeframe. This is not a good video for weight loss, but it doesn't claim to be. Jaime's positive attitude makes this video much easier to stick to than its competitors, such as Jane Fonda's lower body solutions. Jaime never seems condescending, even though his abs are fab, and his cheesy catch phrases ("Hey gang!") make the video a campy classic.

I used this video a few years ago after having a baby. It helped me get rid of that "pooch" of a tummy below my waist in a hurry. Now at 46 and needing to tone up I have turned to it again. After buying and borrowing several different work out videos I still think this is the best. For those people like me who don't have an hour a day to work out, this is the one for you. You get a work out in 2 important areas in under 20 minutes! The countdown timer is a great incentive to keep going and you WILL see results in just a week or 2. Just get started and you will actually look forward to doing these exercises everyday!

I thought that this might be the "easy" way to get a flat stomach. Well, it is getting there, but easy is not how I would put it! It is a quick workout that does produce results, but you have to work into it! I would recommend it to anyone that does not have alot of time to work on the abs and wants to see some improvement

I was told that the first time through would be hard but it wasn't that bad. Eight minutes is just enough time to feel the burn but not become a hassle. I supplement the video with a 10 minute cardio exercise beforehand and I am already seeing results! I would highly recommend this video to those looking for a way into an ab workout regime. Beware the cheesy music, I've memorized the routine so that I can turn the sound down and watch the clock for timing. I was sorely disappointed with the buns video. Hardly any burn at all and it seemed to be more of a leg/quad workout. I'll stick to my buns of steel video.

I've been doing the exercises every day (except weekends) for about 4-5 weeks and have seen very minimal results; I still can't even come close to buttoning the pants I wore 2 years ago. However, you can feel the burn and you can't even believe that the 8 minutes flew by so quickly. BUT, I've decided that I must also complement the video w/ cardio exercise (riding bike). If the combination works, I'll write again! YOU WILL PROBABLY SEE NO RESULTS WITHOUT ALSO DOING OTHER EXERCISES. I do recommend buying this if you want a quick ab workout.

08 minute Abs and Buns is, in my opinion, the best workout tape I have seen so far. It gets right into the exercises without lame introductions or chummy jinggles at the beginning. There is also no stretching within the tape so if you prefer to do your own stretches there is no fastfowarding which is an A+. I could feel every exercise working and they were tough but doable and you can go at your own pace in the privacy of your own home. You only need the space that you take up while laying down too, which is great because I was able to do it in my tiny dorm room. I think this tape is fantastic for beginners as well as those who are looking for a challenge. Enjoy!!

Probably the best workout video I own. The variation of exercises in the 8 minutes of each featured workout makes the time fly yet you feel the burn. When I first started, I thought how will I ever be able to do this? With determination, in 3 short weeks I wear 10 pound ankle weights to keep the resistance up. I would have never believed how fast this workout would have toned anyone up. As other reviews state, you can feel the tightness in your jeans and see the 6 pack in the tee shirt. Highly recommend!

These two videos are WONDERFUL! And they are exactly 8 minutes each. The 8 minutes are the quickest 8 minutes of exercise you'll ever do in your life, and you'll want to come back for more.
